I was hoping that we could get this Hitch Hiker - Home is Where the Heart is And Heart is on the Road's travels updated on the site.  Below is the route based on the book.  There is a gap in the information so maybe Ann & Kathryn, E.S.A.K. (Elmer, Sarah, Allie & Kyle) and/or Mouse & Map can fill in the gaps.

Picked Up  Driver                                 Arrived   Town/State        Hostel

Hi ...Map,

Thanks for the info.

Yep, it was at Shore Bird for 2 months. CA Letterboxing activity is still a
bit slow, though my friend Teri is getting into it and her boyfriend is
totally jazzed. They went on their first hunt together today. Gwen and Don
are by far the leading So.CA boxers. I hope to start catching up.

For the record, Kathryn and I picked up Home is Where the Heart Is on 11/25/00 in Haddam, CT. and placed it on 12/2/00 along with one of ESAK's boxes at Lake Compounce, CT on 12/2/00.  ESAK, while checking  their boxes took it with them for repair and returned it to Lake Compounce, but I don't know when.  It's made quite a journey!  Interesting to us as this was the first (and only) hitchhiker we've found.  Ann & Kathryn

Hello Wendy,
We actually stumbled upon the "Home Is Where The Heart Is" box while
maintaining our Marble Rock Box. It was in tough shape as can be verified by
Ann & Kathryn. We actually brought it home with us to put it in a new
container (sorry - gladware again). That was back on 12/20 I think. We
replaced it in April after a very long winter. We felt it was best to be
placed back at Marble Rock for others to find (Mouse & Map) only because we
were maintaining our own boxes and should really not have found it. I guess
we felt guilty. At any rate, that should fill in the gaps. Sorry about the
time lapse.

Hi E.S.A.K.,

Thanks so much for the input. I'm not sure why I'm so obsessed about
straightening out the travels of this box. So now it is all clear. I was
so very excited about finding the box. I don't know why you would feel that
finding a Hitch Hiker at your own LB while checking and maintaining is
"unfair" in some way. Well I'm glad you cleaned it up and put it back for
Mouse and Map to find, because then my friend Teri and I could find it....
YEA!! The gladeware is holding up fine.

Here is the final Info (I hope this chart comes through OK):

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS, AND HEART IS ON THE ROAD

Picked Up Driver Arrived Town/State Hostel
Cock a Doodle Moo 4H Club 9/14/00 Mansfield/CT Fuzzy Wuzzy

9/16/00 Annie B, Deb, Emma, Evelyn 10/1/00 Lebanon/CT

10/24/00 Bob "The Wiz" 10/29/00 North Stonington
Bullet Ledge
11/3/00 Jay Drew & Clan 11/17/00 Haddam/CT Sherlock's Home
11/25/00 Ann & Kathryn 12/2/00 Stonington/CT Marble Rock
12/3/00 E.S.A.K. (Elmer, Sarah, Allie, Kyle) 4/21/01 Stonington/CT
Marble Rock
4/22/01 Mouse & Map/Pinecone & Lizard 4/27/01 Bolsa Chica Shore Bird

6/22/01 Teri & Wendy

Life is Good, Wendy

PS. Finding this Hitch Hiker has over-shadowed the wonderful Shore Bird
letterbox that we were originally hunting for. I love the stamp and really
enjoyed watching all the birds from very small grebe babies (at least that's
what they looked like) and very large Great Blue Herons and Great Egrets.
VERY COOL.

Wendy,
I have just one correction for your chart. Marble Rock is in
Southington CT not Stonington.
Now it should be all set.

Happy Letterboxing,
Melissa
